Major or Restricted Gifts

Major gifts are sometimes referred to as restricted gifts because typically they are for large sums and are used for a specific purpose, according to the wishes of the donor. Many donors choose to give to an area of study that captures their imagination.

If you choose to provide a major gift, consider funding one of the following options, which are among the Department's most critical needs:

The Facilities, Technology and Equipment Fund: Investing in the Department

For example:

  • Upgrading the MacLab in the DATH Building and the Theatre Design Lab in the RTFP Building with state-of-the-art technology and equipment.
  • Upgrading and expanding the Department's scenic, electrics, and props production shops;
  • Underwriting faculty and staff development;
  • Acquiring an off-site storage facility.

Endowed Scholarship: Investing in Students

Provide critical support to students who demonstrate professional creative promise, academic excellence, and a record of leadership potential.

Endowed Chair: Investing in Faculty

Provide financial support to recruit and retain top-notch scholars
